Game Design and Production Assistant
Overview:
Big Red Button is composed of veteran game developers focused on delivering authentic gaming experiences that are as fun to watch as they are to play.
Our 22-person studio in Southern California is seeking up-and-coming game designers for a Design and Production Assitant (Full-Time) to work on a landmark “unannounced” project.
Job Description
This position is an entry-level position for a talented and ambitious developer. Three-quarters of the job will be as a design staffer, working with our lead and senior designers, and one-quarter of the job will be working directly with the producer on production tasks.
The ideal candidate should want to “graduate” from this position within a year to be a Junior Designer on staff.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate will have
- Extensive knowledge of co-op and multiplayer games
- Experience with Maya to prototype game scenarios
- The ability to document and visualize ideas and concepts
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, and Excel
- The capacity to articulate and communicate effectively
- Great organization, analytical, and lateral thinking skills
- Exacting attention to detail
- Proven ability to learn complex software
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor all feedback from our publisher, including: logging and tracking publisher’s feedback, and coordinate with team’s producer to address feedback.
- Work with Senior Designers to prototype game play in Maya and Crytek engine.
- Collaborate with team to create innovative game play ideas and generate solutions for existing design challenges.
- Analyze and comment on builds, and catalog bugs.
- Research, critique, and chronicle competitive titles strengths and weaknesses
- Assist producer and keep the gears of development running smoothly.
In return gain valuable experience from a team that has worked on successful titles such as Uncharted, True Crime, and Jax and Daxter.
