Position: Substitute Teacher, Grades: K-6
Summary
This position requires the ability to complete training and apply knowledge to implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school's curriculum program. The substitute teacher will maintain a classroom environment that fosters learning by using instructional theories, methods, and techniques conducive to students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 6 in the absence of the classroom teacher. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of classroom management and behavioral management systems to provide a classroom atmosphere of safety for intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth for all scholars.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Strategies
∙ Implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program
and show written evidence of implementation as required;
∙ Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process;
∙ Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and
methods according to district requirements;
∙ Comply with state and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

∙ Be a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school
Classroom Management and Organization
∙ Establish and maintain a classroom environment that fosters learning and is
appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students;
∙ Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student and Parent Handbook; ∙ Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; ∙ Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
Communication
∙ Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, director, teachers
and support staff;
∙ Establish and maintain an on-going professional relationship with colleagues, students,
parents, and community members.
Other
∙ Report to school office at beginning of school day to pick up required materials/schedule
of classes, return materials at the end of the school day, and follow sign-in/sign-out
procedures as prescribed by the director;
∙ Take attendance in accordance with school procedures;
∙ Ensure students are never left unattended;
∙ Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies
for classroom teachers;
∙ Perform other duties as directed by the director.

Preferred Qualifications:
∙ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or
∙ Proof of current enrollment in a post-secondary educational program.
∙ 3 years demonstrated experience working with children
∙ Must be able to pass a background check and fingerprinting;

∙ Knowledge of content areas assigned
∙ Computer skills
∙ Database Skills
Position Details:

Days : Monday – Friday
Normal Weekday Hours: 7 am – 4 pm
Payment Calendar: Monthly
Compensation: $125/day
