Summer Intern / Part-Time Law Clerk - Banking & Business

Job Description

Kennedy Sutherland LLP is looking for a part-time law clerk for its San Antonio, Texas office. We're not just lawyers. Our partners are entrepreneurs and business owners themselves, with over 50 years of combined experience in business and law. Our attorneys maintain a business owner mentality and employ a collaborative approach (internally and externally) to create the best outcomes for clients. The firm's practice areas include banking, corporate governance, mergers, acquisitions, securities and other finance-related transactions. The position will involve working closely with attorneys on a variety of transactions across all practice areas. Candidates must be proficient in legal research and writing and maintain excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys by preparing, editing, and finalizing transaction documents;
• Facilitate transaction closings;
• Research and summarize legal topics, including contracts, statutes, rules and regulations; and
• Attend events, conferences, and other meetings on behalf of the firm.

Requirements

• Open to all law school students;
• Ability to travel into the office with the possibility to work from home (hybrid role);
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail; and
• Must be tech-savvy and have the ability to learn new technology/software quickly.
