Food and Beverage is what adds flavor to a stay! Guests love to enjoy delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented food and drinks. To deliver a great guest experience – A Restaurant Server will serve food and beverages in a timely manner, helping guests to have memorable experiences during their time at Crowne Plaza.
We are looking for a knowledgeable bartender familiar with a variety of drinks and willing to work restaurant service as well. There are also opportunities to work in banquets as well for events. Starting pay will be $9.50/hr for bartender $10/hr for server and $15 for banquets but may be adjusted based on experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Prepare proper table set up for time of service.
2. Greet customers upon their arrival to the restaurant in a friendly manner.
3. Must be well informed about menu items and a variety of mixed drinks and be able to communicate this with guests.
4. Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
5. Interact with customers, take orders, and serve food and drinks
6. Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
7. Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and charge correctly
8. Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
9. Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
10. Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
11. Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
12. Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff.
13. Be attentive to guest’s needs.
14. Provide food and beverage service to guests and present food according to established health and presentation standards.
15. Clear and clean tables in a prompt and efficient manner – clean/wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirrors, and floors as necessary.
16. Perform restaurant opening/closing duties as stated on opening/closing check list.
17. Willing to work flexible schedules and varied shifts.
18. Complete any assigned duties as requested by Food and Beverage Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, or Executive Chef due to business levels and/or events.
Requirements:
Basic reading and writing. Food service and Bartending experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations preferred. Must be at the minimum age to serve alcohol in line with any local legislative requirements.
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms
• Moving about the restaurant
• Handling food objects; plates, trays, glasses, etc.
• Bending, stooping, kneeling
• Being passionate about people and service
• Communication skills are used frequently when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and management.
• Ability to comply to local laws regarding food handling or serving of alcohol.
• Ability to complete training and meet requirements to be food handler certified.
• Reading and writing abilities are used often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
• Basic math skills are frequently used when handling cash and credit cards.
• Possess the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
