Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a dedicated 7th/8th grade Math Teacher to support general education students at an elementary school in Akron, OH. This contract position is ideal for educators passionate about empowering middle school students to excel in mathematics through engaging instruction and supportive learning environments.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver math instruction aligned with curriculum standards to 7th and 8th grade general education students.
• Develop lesson plans that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and growth.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively and create a positive learning atmosphere.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress when appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in general education and math.
• Experience teaching middle school math, preferably 7th and 8th grade.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
