Job Summary:

Responsible for checking in visitors and trucks, verifying and assigning load numbers, and maintaining site security from the guard shack by managing facility access to the facility and verifying authorized visitors according to the site Security Plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain facility security by ensuring compliance with the Site Security Plan. Investigate and communicate any suspicious activity.
• Provide visitor screening of all traffic entering the facility. Maintain roster of employees and visitors entering and leaving the facility.
• Support shipping and receiving operations by efficiently screening all inbound and outbound shipments authorized to enter the facility.
• Perform patrols to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of gates.
• Report security events to PGP Management and appropriate public officials or emergency services as required.
• Complete all documentation as required by the Site Security Plan and other company policies.
• Complete all continuous education requirements including, but not limited to, safety and environmental rules and regulations, continuous improvement programs and new methodologies concerning industrial security.
• Ensures compliance with all Security and Environmental, Health & Safety programs, policies, procedures and regulations to support a safe and secure working environment.
• Follows written guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures for Security Personnel and participates in policy and procedure reviews.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position

Education and Experience:

• Education: High School or Equivalent
• Knowledge of bulk shipping/receiving and grain handling operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently in an organized, detailed manner.
• Ability to use independent judgment to appropriately manage and escalate workplace events in accordance with organizational guidelines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and senior level management.
• Ability to maintain good attendance habits.
• Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
• Able to comply with the company’s safety, quality, and environmental policies at all times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Required to frequently walk.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and be confined to a designated work area for a long period of time.
